Homemade books...with a past!
Welcome to domestic papers!
I've always been an artist. I've always loved paper. I've always loved old things. At
last, these great loves come together! I grew up in a family that collected things and
made things. We were always working with our hands, fixing old things and creating
new ones- sometimes from the old ones!

Students spend three days in this beautiful Houston museum making paper, designing

Beautiful Bridal Books!
It's been a lo-ong time since I was a bride but that didn't stop me from remembering
how it felt to want everything 'just so' for that special day. Two young, clever women
found me through my etsy.com shop and chose me to make the wedding books they'll
Bride A ~ Based on a concept promoted by Martha Stewart, my arch-enemy (just
kidding!) and that I greatly improved upon, I created a set of 18 coordinating
slip-covered books, one for each table at the reception dinner. Each slim, pass-around
volume poses a question and provides plenty of space for guests to record their
advice, serious and not-so-serious, for the newlyweds. The individual books were
designed to be conversation starters at the wedding dinner and later to be displayed in
the sturdy, handmade slipcase I built to fit the set of 18 books.
Bride B ~ Here's a gorgeous keepsake guest book/album as original as the couple
who commissioned it! The bride's description of the planned nuptials and a photo of
their invite was all the inspiration I needed. I'd never stitched a Secret Belgian
Binding this large before but it worked perfectly. The bride loved the 3 special papers
I chose, and working with her was a dream, so the whole project surely was a match
made in heaven or, in this case, on etsy!
