| I love leading workshops in: Basic Hand Papermaking Learn how to create unique, archival handmade papers in your own kitchen! If you have a bucket, a whisk, and a rolling pin, then you are ready to make paper. Create your own beautiful papers for your art, stationery, and decorating projects. You'll be inspired by this hands-on workshop that is fun and practically goof-proof! You'll learn about ingredients, sheet formation, couching, and drying methods and go home with the basic equipment and knowledge to continue creating paper on your own. Introduction to Handmade Books Experiment with basic book formats that can be personalized for your own use or to give as a special gift. You'll learn to make accordion photo albums and single signature books, as well as both hardcover and softcover books with Japanese binding techniques. From there, the possibilities are endless! Decorative Papers and Stationery Make decorative papers using such diverse methods as bubbling, paste painting, tie-dye, and absentee. Then use your new papers to make beautiful cards and envelopes, gift bags, boxes, and more. These techniques make use of a variety of materials from old calendars and posters to plastic wrap and light bulb packages. |
